Childhood Artwork pt. 2: Teenage Anime Explosion

Okay, as promised, round two from the childhood vaults. Whereas my younger years were filled with STAR WARS and superheroes, with adolescence came anime... (I did these between the ages of 14-16 years)

ROBOTECH changed everything for alot of us kids at the time,
mainly the MACROSS portion of it.

By the time MEGAZONE 23 came out, my robot drawing skills improved a little bit.
(You be the judge.)

Ya can't draw Japanese robots without drawing GUNDAM. It's a law.

MEGAZONE 23 villain BD, 1st as a pen & ink drawing....

....and then on cel. Yeah, really.

For MZ 23 Part II, he got re-designed. SO metro. So '80s, too.

Again, hand-inked and hand-painted cel. This is how you did things before
Photoshop & Illustrator.

Okay... that's enough of that! Sheesh...
NEXT TIME: I finally get to post some EL TIGRE stuff.

Ha ha ha ha!!! NERD!!!! I wish I had access to my old horrible Chrono Trigger art. That cel is pretty impressive. It better be top peg to keep with the anime theme.

Rick Hunter is such a dream boat.
he he - - - He looks so manly, and thinking to himself "Why is Lisa always bitchin' at me... even though I know shes hot, and Minmays super, but she's going out with her cousin.. darn." ahhh... If all soap operas had veriteks they'd be much better.
:) mm

Hey, everyone: Thanks for all the dork love! Glad you liked it. How embarassing; Drawings done by a 6-yr. old are charming, while drawings done by a 14 yr. old are just.... dorky.

YOU MAY ALL CLAIM YOUR BONUS NERD PRIZE BY CLICKING HERE.

Alexi- Nice to see I've inspired others to bear all!

Brianne- I'll be real disappointed if you don't dig thru your folk's attic for that old art next time you visit for the holidays! POST 'EM!!

Scott- Most were done between the ages of 14-16.

Alan- Why even try????

Rick- While the die-cast Garland is pretty dope, I have bigger toys on my list... Papa needs a plasma screen!!

Miles- I won't fight you for food, but I will fight you for those sweet birthday Spicolis of yours.

Minja- Soap operas and veriteks..... you might be on to something.

Grant- Now this is embarrassing. A non-cartoon blogger drops by the blog when I'm posting all this geekery. Please tell me you scrolled down to look at all the "real" drawings.

Dee- Grab that Lambey character, too and let's all git some grub next week.. maybe to work off our Thursday night hangovers.
