1.5 seconds of fame

I guess these days you know you've made it when you get mentioned on a DVD commentary. Here's a short clip where Genndy (along with Bryan Andrews) gives a little shout-out to yours truly in the commentary track for the "Jack & the Spartans" episode from the SAMURAI JACK Season 2 set:

Here's my designs for the robot monster:

My idea was to have the robo-beast's facial graphics resemble
a Greek vase, with orange graphics on black.

Of course, red and black are always seen as symbolically
representing evil, so they went with that.

I remember that from the commentary! And I study that episode all the time...... cause I'm a nerd....

So are Erik and Bryan going to give more legendary status on the Mighty B! dvd (there better be one damn it! - tell Erik that insist on that - cause you know how former interns have vast influence).

Still can't believe you can keep your work so neat. Nice clean design - I get way too sketchy.....

Bad-ass-ness!

I've recently been going back and re-watching all the episodes of Samurai Jack. I can't wait to see this episode and discover it's brilliance all over again.

Thanks, guys. Glad the old stuff holds up!

Intergalactic- I'm gonna be at a wedding in Carlsbad during Comic-Con, so not sure if I'll make it down to the big show. Hoping to put together a sketchbook someday; Now if only someone would commission me to drink myself into a stupor and fall into the harbor...

Scotland- Hey, man; Look back thru the old blog posts and you'll find a few where I show off my scribbly roughs before they get the smooth polish...

Serapio- What I want is a CHOWDER DVD! With all the puppet endings!!

Dee- ... and I want EL TIGRE DVDs, too!!

Andy- Gotta get some K-BBQ this month. I'll give ya a call.

Nicodemus! Where ya @ these days?
