Cat's out of the bag...

People have been asking what I'm working on these days: Since last fall, I've been doing character designs for Rob Zombie's crazy lil' cartoon movie THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO. Written by Mr. Zombie & Tom Papa and directed by Mr. Lawrence (of SPONGEBOB fame), this R-rated flick features the work of a bunch of your favorite cartoon pals from REN & STIMPY, DEXTER'S LAB, POWERPUFF GIRLS, SPONGEBOB, CLONE HIGH, and SAMURAI JACK. When will it be out? Your guess is as good as mine, but for now, you can check out character profiles and sign up for future updates at the official site.

There will be monsters. There will be sexy girls. There will be masked mexican wrestlers. There will also be a sexually frustrated transforming robot. ...and that's just for starters.

Hey Chris, I suspected as such, as I just picked up Rob Zombie's "Educated Horses" CD and there was a little placard with some of the character designs... hope you can post some sketches!

I'm hoping to post some of my stuff from the movie in the near future, but since we had to sign NDAs (which specifically mentioned blogs), I'll have to be careful. Check out Miles Thompson's blog for some of his development work.

Marmax- Yep, we're doing it at Film Roman/IDT right now.

Chris
thanks for plugging my blog and the Zombie thumbnails - i can't wait to see this movie just like the rest of the world - i hear RZ was on Stern a few days ago pluggin' it up...i also heard it was on hold but you know how the much animators are like old Grannys and can't keep from spreading a rumor - especially if it's NOT true...either way when it hits theaters everywhere it'll be great to see what Mr L and his band of killer bees have been doing inside of the secret chocolate factory walls ...

rock and roll
